When I was dreaming up Margo in the mid-1980s, I made cassette tapes – mixtapes – of the music I loved and thought would be heard on Margo. Two of them (Selections From A Sleezian Juke Box and Beach Blanket Margo) were derived almost solely from my collection of 45 rpm records. Popular Music of Margo and A Night In Heliopolis were composed of cuts from more current album music of the 1980s. This music inspired me as I imagined Margoin musicians doing covers of these songs. If you remember this music then you will get a taste of what is heard on the airwaves of Margo.
